Text Box: 24/7
I used to work in
technical support for a 24/7 call center. One day I got a call from an individual who asked what hours the call center was open. I told him, "The number you
dialed is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
He responded, "Is that Eastern or Pacific time?"
Wanting to end the call quickly, I said, "Uh, Pacific."

Text Box: Implementing New Technology

Text Box:
We all know that every year a new Blackberry, iPhone or other cool communication device hits the market…but how and when to
implement it in your company is the real question.
The Dilemma
The sales department wants the latest and greatest productivity tool, the technology department wants to ensure that this new tool doesn’t poke a hole in the defenses that they spend countless hours creating. Both sides have a point so what is the best method for adopting new technology?
Needs Analysis
The rule of thumb is first to get a needs analysis done. What!? Yes, we need to answer some questions before determining if this is the best device for the company. What will the sales team do with the device? How will it affect productivity? How will it affect the network? The problem, and I have seen this countless times on too many different new products, is that no one takes the time to do a simple needs analysis.
What is a needs analysis anyway? To put it simply it is exactly that.  What functions (needs) will be met with this new product or
technology? What benefit will come from adopting it? Once this has been determined the needs analysis should be used to select the proper technology to meet those needs.
Implementation
Now that we’ve determined the technology we need, next is due
diligence. That’s right - time to put it through the paces. The best means of testing is to get the technology team utilizing the device first. They should have the product up and running and probing it to ensure it is only doing what is listed on the feature sheet. Far too many times devices and applications don’t really operate the way we think they should. We should measure bandwidth consumption,
reliability, effectiveness and host of other factors to determine if ‘what you see is what you get.’
A Win-Win Solution
Once the technology team understands the product/technology it can be implemented throughout the company with little to no ill effects.  For more information or to discuss implementation of new products or technology in your organization contact us, we can help.

Text Box: We’re focussing on developing better products and services while minimizing our footprint on the environment.
We’re using mediums such as internet kiosks with interactive
websites that have video and animation and sending newsletters via the internet. We’re searching for new ways of providing needed information while reducing materials that hit land fills.
One of the first changes we made internally to reduce paper was to eliminate filing cabinets by using document scanners. Another was to utilize fax to email technology.
