Text Box: Last month our feature article talked about the importance of community involvement and what aligning with the right cause can mean to your business.
We support Alpha House an organization providing protective housing to women and their children who have left abusive
relationships. Alpha House provides a home for up to nine months and offers extensive programming to help residents heal from the abuse they’ve encountered and regain their independence.
Every year Alpha House puts on an annual dinner. We are not only attending the dinner this year, we are also on the dinner committee. The major goals for the event are to:
· Raise the profile of Alpha House in the community,
· Educate the public on the effects of abuse and how we can all help to end the cycle of violence,
· Raise funds to make living arrangements as home-like as
possible and improve upon and grow programming for
residents.
We support Alpha House because we’re inspired by the courage and resilience of the residents. We also believe in the fundamental right to independence and living life free from fear and
intimidation. Once a year at the dinner, we are reminded by a past resident just how important her experience at Alpha House was and are filled with hope for the future.

Text Box: TIP OF THE DAY
Text Box: There is a term that some web developers like to use called ‘stickiness’. It describes how useful a site is to the audience and gauges what elements make it irresistible. The idea is that you want your website to be useful enough to have users coming back on a regular basis so that your website can be an efficient marketing vehicle and source for delivering services.
Banks have a great ‘sticking’ factor with online banking. People who use online banking are regularly visiting their bank’s
website. But, how often do you stop and peruse the bank’s site when you’re on your way to pay your bills? There is a balance between what you give and what you get when providing
services and information to your user group.
Here are a few questions to consider while analyzing the
stickiness factor of your website:
From the user’s perspective:
What information changes regularly on your site?
What information has value to the target audience?
What services do you provide online?
How does your site make the lives of your users easier?
What enjoyment does the site provide to users?
How are users learning while on your site?
From your perspective:
How are you increasing your ability to deliver faster using your website?
How is your site educating your clients making it easier for you to do business with them and more comfortable for them to do business with you?
How does your website differentiate you from the competition?
How is the site helping you to learn about users?
Asking a few questions and thinking through the role of your website in your organization can be a powerful exercise in
improving both your marketing efforts and operations.

Text Box: The Young Businessman
A young businessman
had just started his own
firm. He rented a beautiful
office and had it furnished with antiques. Sitting there, he saw a man come into the outer office.
Wishing to appear the hot shot, the businessman picked up the phone and started to pretend he had a big deal
working.
He threw huge figures around and made giant commitments. Finally he hung up and asked the visitor, "Can I help you?"
The man said, "Yeah, I've come to activate your phone lines."

Text Box: Outlook Mail Tips
If you’re using Outlook for your mail here are some simple tips that will help you manage your messages and time!
Set a reminder to reply to a message: Right-click the
message you want to set the
reminder for, point to Follow Up, and then click Add Reminder. In the Due By list, click the date when you have to complete the reply. In the second list, click a time. In the Flag color list, click the flag color you want, and then click OK.
Add your own words to a
follow-up flag for a new
message: Click the Message Flag button and then type the text you want in the Flag to box.
Send a message to multiple people without revealing other recipients' identities:  Use the Bcc line in the message. Bcc stands for blind carbon copy. If you add someone's name to the Bcc line, a copy of the
message is sent to that person, but his or her name is not visible to other recipients.
